"Making this stand turned out to be way more complicated than it looks at first sight. The 20 mm thick acrylic turned out not to be always 20 mm because of a specific manufacturing process. This makes it deviate from that dimension for sometimes even 2 mm. Since the original idea was to make wood so tight that the acrylic would be simply pressed in, that wasn't an option anymore. The solution was using special black rubber-like compound to glue them together.
It was essential that some important detail must be added to the stand. If you look at the top, through the acrylic, you can see Erzetich writing inside. A really nice touch that brought even more problems with it – that would work OK if the acrylic was only mechanically pressed in, but with the introduction of black glue the part with the writing had to be isolated in its own.
Anyway, at the end of a long and painstaking assembly process, the stand looks really cool."
